Australian Ninja Warrior on Channel 9
Australian Ninja Warrior is set to be aired on Channel 9 in the second half of 2017… at the moment the only information we have is that it will be announced at the end of June 2017.
The first season was filmed in December 2016 and had 250 competitors (out of 3000 applicants) all competing to get the furthest the fastest and take on Mt Midoriyama. Competitors will first run on the heats, where only the fastest survive to the next round. Semi-Finals are next and again, only the fastest get to the Grand Final. The Grand Final has 3 stages including the famed Mt Midoriyama. There will be 9 episodes in Season 1.
The hosts are:
Rebecca Maddern, Ben Fordham and Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff
Rebecca and Ben will be up on the podium commentating the competitors runs while Freddie will be the roving man on the ground interviewing puffed out and wet competitors.
The show is set on Ninja Island, which is a short ferry ride from the Sydney Opera House. During the filming of season 1, audience tickets were free and were in two shifts. 8pm to 10pm and 10pm – 2am. Audience members who were in the 2nd shift stayed overnight in tents and left on a ferry in the morning.
Filming for Season 2 will most likely start in December 2017.
